audio visual performance | Praha (CZ/2017)
Xenotopia is a climate data performance environment. Daily temperature data from 1876 to 2100 are used to drive all essential parts of the audiovisual system via parameter mapping techniques. The dataset derived from the monastery of Kremsmuenster, the first established meteorological observatory in Austria.
The predicted future scenario was developed by Prof. Herbert Formayer at Vienna University of Technology. Due to the artificial compression of time inherent structures of the dataset are made perceptible through space (spatialization), color (timbre) and audiovisual patterns.
